Breakstep

Bass and beats crossing over from Dubstep, Breaks, Oldskool Breakbeat Hardcore, Jungle, Garage and 2-Step
It's all about massive bass and chopped-up oldskool breakbeats, typically around 135-145 BPM.
including:
- Jungle, "Nu-" Jungle, Future Jungle, Jungle Breaks, 140 Jungle
- Dubstep, 2-Step Garage, Breakbeat Garage..
- Breaks, Hardcore Breaks, J-Tek

***IMPORTANT***
Submitted tunes must have some sort of sampled/edited/chopped up breakbeats (amen, funkydrummer, think, apache... etc.)

Mixes: must have substantial breakstep content

  1. Showing respect eitherway but isnt the above description exactly what J-tek is? A genre defined by not having too much musical or bpm restrictions? I just think labeling/genre naming as soon as something sounds different/hybrid/experimental can begin to restrict a genre from growing. Why dont we all just start describing our tunes as "145bpm" or "160bpm" in an attempt to bring everything back together as it once was? It allows for more variation!! Only my opinion!!

  2. Hi Gav
    Agree with you 100%
The thing is so many different people are calling the same styles of music so many different names right now which is why ive set up this blog to pull them all together in one place.
Breakbeat driven bass music , call it what you like ......
